This is the third in a series based on the parallelism between lunar phases / women's ages / and the 4 seasons.
WINTER: a period of destruction and transformation, an "obscure" phase corresponding to the black moon, the "Witch".
Above her head, I incorporated the Triple Lunar Goddess symbol - Maiden, Mother, Crone ( or waxing, full, waning moon) A symbol of feminine energy and psychic abilities.
I also incorporated the Celtic Triquetra symbol...The Triquetra can represent the 3 aspects of the feminine life cycle, the maiden (the young virgin), the mother (pregnancy and motherhood) and the crone (old age and immense wisdom).

Surreal Visions
Exquisite Corpse Colaborations
These are drawings with other international artists. One person starts the drawing, covers their part leaving only a small strip exposed and mails to the 2nd participant. That artist finishes the drawing based only on what he/she can see from the small strip. I have enjoyed this process immensely.

ARTISTS STATEMENT
I have always had a creative mind. In my life, making art and breathing are equally important.
My drawings seep from my subconscious, they are often automatic. Perhaps this is a way to reveal one's psyche, which otherwise would be repressed. I often find I undoubtedly say much more about myself through my drawings than I really know. Never the less, it is the purging of my soul that I am addicted to.
Drawing provides solidarity for my creative energy. Art is my haven from the hectic pace of everyday life and an escape from reality. I take photographs to capture images of the world in which I live… I make art to escape from it.
I create work that is soulful. If one chooses to make art to please an audience, one becomes a slave to pleasing the audience for the rest of your life. My art is enigmatic and emerges at will. It is surreal in nature, and it is intimate.
I draw because my soul yearns to breathe and inspiration is forcing me to gasp for air, I know no other way.
