About Me
The whole image comes instantaneously to my mind… as a whole. As a real Dreamscape. First l do one or more preliminary sketches on paper, and when I am ready I pencil in the final composition on primed fine linen canvas. Usually I do no under-painting. I decide on my palette in advance, but I do not force myself to stick to it rigidly. The medium I generally use is Talens’ “Rembrandt” without siccative. Sometimes I use other mediums as well, even on the same canvas: these may include stand oil thinned with rectified spirits of turpentine, poppy oil or a wax-based medium for impasto brushstrokes, which I employ very sparingly.
