ABOUT THE ARTIST:
WESSI was born in 1971 in Sofia. She drew and painted since early childhood. In 1991 she graduated from the Sofia High School of Fine Arts, her first diploma work, the painting "Tower of Babel" was awarded high honors . This topic lead Wessi to Vienna where she was accepted at the Academy of Fine Arts. In the years 1993-1996 she completed studies at the Master School for Restoration and the Academy of Art and Design, NY in New York City.
Lives and works in Vienna and Sofia.

.... Thus the figures became more and more, and one day I read about the Tower of Babel -
I finally was able to sort my life and give the creatures a home. I came to Vienna and had the tower in my head, and it was like a snail shell within me and it also became my home. I spoke German, I understood, misunderstood, learned more and understood more, then I recorded it all in my drawings. Then, everyone understood.
