PHANTASTENMUSEUM WIEN
Note:
The introduction below was set at a time when the Phantasten Museum was still a viable and thriving institution - it's sad that we now have to point out that this is the past and it no longer exists. This page is now archived.

Fantastic Art Museum Opens in Vienna
article from Fantastic Visions
After intensive planning since the Autumn 2010 the Fantastic Art Museum (PhantastenMuseum) in Vienna opened as planned on January 15th 2011. For many weeks the team from the Österreichischen Kulturzentrum (Austrian Cultural Center) in the Palais Palffy and Gerhard Habarta had their hands full building for visitors to the museum, an interesting and informative journey through the history of Fantastic Art and to further the cause for the future. It may be an exaggeration to say that they have more than succeeded. The wonderful ambience and bright, modern exhibition rooms round off the overall impression of perfection and make a visit to the museum a memorable experience for art lovers...............read more
Endlich ein Museum für die Wiener Schule
und den Phantastischen Realismus
article from Kultur und Wein Magazin

.......read more

PLEASE NOTE:
We are currently rebuilding our website with a new theme - so temporarily this site is functional, but a construction zone.
Headers, background and certain special new functions will be built in, respectively changed. Additionally, most Slide Shows used to be embedded from our Private Social Network on Ning. Since Ning discontinued Flash some time ago, the space where the embedded slide shows supposed to be is blank!
We are working to fix this as well, but with over 500 pages for artists alone, this will take time.
