ROLAND KOVÁCS COMPUTER-GRAPHIC ARTIST
My name is Roland Kovács, I was born in Budapest, on the 5th of April in 1970. I graduated from the Typesetting Department of a Printing Industrial High School, later on I have studied printing industrial photography, and I've worked as a computer-graphic artist. I create my works of art on computer, using digitalized drawings made by hand, digitalized textures, and different sorts of objects. I assemble these particular elements with layers, using Photoshop program. I use the figures of Poser program as a framework, then add clothing. I often use this program to create the basic features of faces. To hand made drawings I add tone and colour within the program, and this is where my piece of art gets its final shape. The inspiration for my themes is mysticism, world of dreams, the infinite dimensions of fantasy and the bizarre atmosphere of our present world, filled with anxiety. One essential point of my paintings is creating a portrait of grotesque and often frightening creatures, as if in the twinkling of an eye we could be able to see scenes from a parallel universe or different planet. (Fortunately it only lasts until we look at the paintings). My purpose is tearing you away from the common reality, and challenging you into a fantastic journey to a different realm, which can be strange, unusual and often frightening. My works of art can be conceived as a sort of visual exorcism, in which while watching my own demons in the spotlight, maybe my audience will also start contemplating the depths and contents of their inner world.

PLEASE NOTE:
We are currently rebuilding our website with a new theme - so temporarily this site is functional, but a construction zone.
Headers, background and certain special new functions will be built in, respectively changed. Additionally, most Slide Shows used to be embedded from our Private Social Network on Ning. Since Ning discontinued Flash some time ago, the space where the embedded slide shows supposed to be is blank!
We are working to fix this as well, but with over 500 pages for artists alone, this will take time.
