Die ersten Menschen auf dem Mond waren Neil Armstrong und Buzz Aldrin. Beide Astronauten und damit Entdecker einer fremden Welt. Die Protagonisten des folgenden Beitrags sind das in gewisser Weise auch. Sie entdecken befremdlich wirkende Welten und präsentieren diese auch gleich noch einem kunstinteressierten Publikum. So auch in Viechtach. Denn im Alten Rathaus stellen derzeit die AUSTROnauten aus.

They discover strange worlds and presenting them to an art-interested public. So also in Viechtach. Because currently in the Old Town Hall the AUSTROnauts are exhibiting.

AUSTROnauts – Fantastic artists from Vienna
AUSTROnauten – Phantastische Kuenstler aus Wien
Wie stelle ich einen Bezug her zwischen der Kleinstadt Viechtach im Bayerischen Wald und der “Metropole” Wien. Nun, die Wahrzeichen dieser unterschiedlichen Städte sind sich ähnlich. Das idyllische Städtchen Viechtach hat den “Dom des Bayerischen Waldes” und das Wahrzeichen
Wiens ist der Stefansdom.
Allein diese könnten unterschiedlicher nicht sein – die Gemeinsamkeit liegt hier in der Freundschaft zur “Phantastischen Kunst”.
Durch den Viechtacher Künstler und Künstlerkurator Reinhard Schmid, sowie den Verantwortlichen der Stadt Viechtach und deren österreichischen Freunden des Phantasten Museums Wien gelang es diese erste gemeinsame Ausstellung durchzuführen. Es sind dreizehn “phantastische Künstler”, welche alle ihren Bezug zu “Austria” und “Australien” haben – allesamt hochprofessionell und international anerkannt.

How do I make a connection between the small town Viechtach in the Bavarian Forest and the "Metropole" Vienna? Well, the landmarks of these different cities are similar. The idyllic town of Viechtach has the "Dom of the Bavarian Forest" and the landmark Vienna's the Stefansdom.
But these could not be more different - the common ground lies in the friendship with the "fantastic art". The Viechtach artist and art curator Reinhard Schmid, as well as the responsible persons of the city Viechtach and their
Austrian friends of the Phantasten Museum Vienna succeeded in performing this first joint exhibition. There are thirteen "fantastic artists", all of which are related to "Austria" and "Australia" - all highly professional and internationally recognized.
