Nun steht es endlich fest: Die erste callas art affair findet im Herzen von Bremen statt. Passend zu der festlichen Stimmung zum Ende des Jahres hin, dürfen wir Gemälde der „Neuen Meister“ und Künstlern aus Bremen und dem Umland erstmalig in einer gemeinschaftlichen Ausstellung der interessierten Öffentlichkeit vorstellen. Besonders freuen wir uns als Bremer Kunst- und Kulturverein darauf, dass diese Ausstellung fantastischer Kunst direkt in der Bremer Innenstadt stattfinden wird. Daher hoffen wir auf eine starke Resonanz, um so der Kunst- welt einen neuen Wind einzuhauchen…

About the exhibition site Roque Gameiro House

Built from 1898 to 1901 as the house of watercolour painter Alfredo Roque Gameiro and his family, this house has an architectural style influenced by Nationalist ideals shared by both intellectuals and politicians of the 90’s generation of the 19th century. The initial project was conceived by Roque Gameiro himself, but architect Raul Lino changed it later. The inside of the main floor is covered by pattern tiles and decorated with small ornaments of colourful tiles at the end of doors and windows. In the dinig room, you will see tiles painted by Bordalo Pinheiro depicting bunches of grapes and ear corns. You can visit the living rooms of Roque Gameiro family, profusely decorated with tiles, as well as temporary exhibits in the two inferior floors of the building.

AN ACADEMY OF VISIONARY ART SET TO LAUNCH IN VIENNA

Opening its doors in September of 2013, The Vienna Academy of Visionary Art offers a two-year and three-year Diploma programme with courses in historical painting techniques, old masters studies and life drawing, as well as visionary seeing and the exploration of myths, symbols and styles from East to West. It is an international teaching institution with English as the primary language of instruction.

Located in the historic Palais Palffy – home of Ernst Fuchs’ Studio, The Phantasten Museum, and the Galerie Palffy - the Academy was co-founded by Professor Ernst Fuchs and The Visionary Guild - a circle of ten artists who, having assisted Fuchs in the past, now share studio space in the Palais Palffy and teach the Academy’s core courses.

From London, Paris and Vienna to Melbourne Australia and the West Coast of America, these ten artists – five men and five women –transmit their love of craft while sharing insights into the artist’s vocation. Their names are already well-known in the Visionary Art world - Kuba Ambrose, Laurence Caruana, A. Andrew Gonzalez, David Heskin, Maura Holden, Daniel Mirante, Amanda Sage,Timea Tallian, Emma Watkinson and Aloria Weaver. Collectively and individually, they have taught hundreds of students, from all quarters of the globe, particularly through The Visions in the Mischtechnik Seminar in Italy.

At the heart of the programme is the individual artist’s quest for beauty, spirit and vision. The curriculum, developed by the Faculty as a whole, encourages both technical mastery and the creative expression of genius.

This museum of the ’fantastic’ and it’s Director, Erich Peischl, supports and provides a daring mettle in accepting, promoting and presenting this unique exhibition. It is in this spirit that the artists represented in this show offer their work and the life of their art to you. The intention of this exhibition is to show the generational life that Fantastic Art and Artists have propagated in 20th and 21st century art. It is important to realize that the artists selected for this exhibition only represent a mere fraction of the now global branches of vision that has its origins in the roots of Fantastic Realism. It is equally important to offer the public an opportunity to realize the past, present and the generations of artists to come that share a common passion that inspires an enormous spectrum of uncommon visions. That the seed of Fantastic Art has spawned such a vast visual language and spectrum of truth, beauty and goodness that will remain not only a remarkable imprint on the spirit of humanity but navigate and express our story, our diary on this little blue pearl in the forehead of the universe.
